Why write Biblical Fiction?

I love to read the Bible and I love to read fiction. I have learned some of my favorite life lessons from characters in novels and, of course most of my life lessons from characters in scripture. So here I am, marrying the two.

My ultimate goal is to encourage readers to go back to scripture and read what’s there. There are some pretty cool and crazy things in the Bible. Those things continue to remind me that God:

  1. Is good

  2. Understands me and loves me because of and in spite of my human condition

  3. Is always with me

In his mercy, God has given me the desire to write, as it is like breathing to me.

Thank you for reading! Please let me hear your thoughts in the comments or via email.

Oh and lastly, forgive me for any factual errors that you see in the fiction. I am not a Biblical scholar and until the pocketbook allows, am not striving to be. While I try to stick as close as possible to the truth of these stories, I do have a flair for the dramatic (as I’ve noticed) so all the more reason you should enjoy the story, but also go and read the scripture.

Thank you again!
